Security forces recovered huge cache of arms, explosives from Reasi district of Kashmir

Srinagar, December 28: Indian security forces including army, CRPF and police have intensified their efforts to wipe out the terrorism from the valley. Therefore, Jammu and Kashmir police along with Indian Army on Wednesday recovered a huge cache of arms and explosives from an underground arms dump in Reasi district.

 

After receiving a specific input, Jammu and Kashmir police along with the team of Indian Army carried the joint operation and recovered a huge cache of arms and explosives from an underground arms dump at Shergari area of Chassana in Reasi district.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Tahir Sajad Bhat said, “The recovery included an AK 56 rifle, a pistol, 23 explosive sticks and two IEDs weighing six kg each.” He also said that the arms and explosives were recovered in a joint operation carried out by the Army and the police on specific information last night. “Police have registered a case in this connection and further investigation is on,” the SSP added.

However, the other material recovered from the arms dump included two rounds of rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), one illumination round, one 303 rifle with one magazine and 90 rounds, three grenades including two of Chinese make, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) round, one AK magazine with 81 rounds, a pistol magazine and 67 PIKA rounds.

In the week, security forces eliminated a top Jaish-e- Mohammad terrorist named Noor Mohammad after a fierce encounter that took place in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, in this month, security forces eliminated three terrorists and arrested one belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terror outfit in Qazigund area of Kulgam district. Security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas.

Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 205 terrorists are eliminated by Indian troops in a time period of a year.
