Amaravati, December 29: Underscoring the importance technology in police administration, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that state police force should be exposed to best practices to address the new age threats. Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of AP Forensic Science Laboratory at Tulluru village, the Chief Minister expressed that Forensic science will improve the functioning of the police force.

Commenting on the technology-driven offense like cybercrime, tampering Babu mentioned that state will provide required training and skills for handling the new age challenges to reduce the crime rate in the coastal state. The Chief Minister advised official to adopt modern technologies like robots and sensors for better results. Chandrababu informed that state government wants to use drones for governance, administration and for the maintenance of law and order.

With the budget of Rs 250 crore, AP Forensic Science Laboratory will be built on three acres of area. On 27th September 2017, Union Cabinet had already given a green single for setting up of a state-of-the-art Forensic Science Laboratory in Amaravati. On this occasion, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P Narayana, state DGP N Sambasiva Rao and other dignitaries were present.
