Gandhinagar, December 29: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani after taking the oath wasting no time allotted portfolios to his council of ministers on Thursday. Notably, BJP had registered a sixth straight assembly poll win in the key western state on 18 December, winning 99 seats in the 182-member house.

 

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani taking the charge from the front retained the crucial and highly sought Home and urban development department with himself. While another important ministry of road and building, health and family welfare was handed over to deputy CM of Gujarat Nitin Patel. The deputy chief minister will also head the Narmada, Kalpasar and Medical education departments.

The core team of CM Vijay Rupani consists of eight cabinet ministers and 10 ministers of state. The cabinet ministers who took oath on Tuesday are Bhupendra Singh Chudasama, RC Faldu, Kaushik Patel, Saurav Patel, Jayesh Radadiya, Ganpat Vasava, Dilip Thakor and Ishwar Parmar.


On the other side, The Ministers of State, who were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor OP Kohli were Kumar Kanani, Pradeepsingh Jadeja, Vibhavri Dave, Jaidratsingh Parmar, Ishwar Patel, Purushottam Solanki, Bachu Khabad, Parmar Patel and Raman Patkar.

  1. Deputy CM Nitin Patel: Road and building, Health and family, Narmada, Kalpasar and Medical education.
  2. RC Faldu: Agriculture, Livestock.
  3. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama: Law and Order, Higher and Technical education.
  4. Kaushik Patel: Revenue.
  5. Saurabh Patel: Finance and power.
  6. Ganpat Vasava: Tribal affairs, Tourism, Forest, Women and Child Development.
  7. Dilip Thakor: Labour and Employment, Yatradham development, Disaster management
  8. Jayesh Radadia: Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, Cottage Industries.
  9. Ishwar Parmar: Social Justice and Development of Backward Classes.

BACKGROUND:

The BJP had registered a sixth straight assembly poll win in the key western state on 18 December, winning 99 seats in the 182-member house. Rupani secured a comfortable win from Rajkot West seat by 1,31,586 votes, which is the largest constituency in the Saurashtra region. The Congress Party trailed in second with 77 seats, followed by the Bharatiya Tribal Party (two) and NCP (one), while independent candidates won three seats.

Gujarat Governor OP Kohli administered the oath of office and secrecy to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and ministers at the Sachivalay Ground in Gandhinagar on Tuesday this week.
