Goan company donates waste collection vehicle adding sugar to Swachh Goa mission

Panaji, December 29: Swachh Bharat shall always be in the mind of each and every Indian. Cleanliness is a key to a disease free state. Keeping this in mind Gera Developmensts, a company in Goa, donated garbage truck to the Goan government under its CSR.

 

This truck was flagged off by CM of Goa Manohar Parrikar on Thursday. The feature of these truck is that it is covered which will be a cherry on the cleanliness cake. This vehicle will ply on Mapusa, Calangute and Chogum rd.

Senior general manager of Gera Development Pvt Ltd also spoke on the occasion. “The Geras have made a commitment with Goa government to make Goa garbage-free. This donated truck is Gera’s first initiative under CSR,” he said.

 

Along with this CM Parrikar on Monday assured the State Legislative Assembly that by 2019 the state would be garbage free. “I am monitoring garbage issue regularly. There are four bigger plants. All questions will not be solved with centralized plants. In addition local facilities will also have to be created by different methods to handle the issue,” he said.

He said around the government had identified 40,000 square metre land had at Verna to set up treatment plant for garbage from Salcete and Mormugao.
