Over 1500 participants attended Rajasthan Digi Fest 2017

Udaipur, December 4: At least 1581 participants from various parts of India took part in Rajasthan Digi Fest 2017 that was kicked off Udaipur on Saturday to mark the succession to the string of IT festivals that the state government has been hosting.

 

Notably, the Rajasthan Digi Fest 2017 was started off with a 24-hour long Hackathon which saw a total of 1581 participants from various parts of India, work on their desired IT projects. These Hackathon projects covered areas of interests like Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Virtual Reality, Big Data, Blockchain and many more.

Bhai Tech from Patna won the first prize and was felicitated with Rs 15 Lakh while Bot Labs got the second place and were felicitated with Rs 10 Lakh. However, V-R-Guys from Mumbai stood at the third place and won the cash prize of Rs 7.5 Lakh. In addition, 10 more award categories offered the participants, prizes like Tablets and smartphones as well.

The concrete aim of Rajasthan government is to build the e-governance in the state and using digitization to address the various issues was also focused upon during the Digi Fest 2017, Udaipur. Right from the history of digital initiatives like e-Mitra, e-Bazaar and like, the current efforts towards building more such digitization schemes were portrayed through various kiosks installed at the event grounds.

Various start-ups which displayed their ongoing work, business model and how they plan to disrupt the market with their ideas were in the limelight during IT festival. This is in accordance with the Rajasthan government’s iStartup initiative wherein the state government provides support to start-ups from and outside of Rajasthan.

Importantly, the iStartup portal was announced at the Kota IT festival held in August and aimed to help the start-ups pan India by providing them exposure to VCs, Angel Investors and even financial support up to some level. The Rajasthan government claimed to have set aside a budget of Rs 500 Crore to invest in these start-ups.

The Fest Udaipur 2017 was held on the grounds of Mohanlal Sukhadiya University. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and speakers from various established firms across the globe like Uber, Microsoft, Autodesk were invited to the Digi Fest.
