#AmarnathAttackAvenged : Security forces eliminated 3 LeT terrorists, one apprehended in Kulgam district

Srinagar, December 5: Indian security forces on Monday got a major success in Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to curb terrorism after they eliminated three terrorists and arrested one belonged to Laskhar-e-toiba (LeT) terror outfit in Qazigund area of Kulgam district.

 

Notably, at least three terrorists were killed while one other was arrested during the fierce encounter with the security forces that took place in Qazigund area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Monday. All the terrorists were involved in Amarnath yatra terror attack in which eight pilgrims in July this year.

The encounter took place after terrorists opened fire on an Army convoy along the Srinagar-Jammu highway, around 7 km from Islamabad town. The road opening party and the jawans who were part of the convoy retaliated. The terrorists, officials said, fled and took shelter in a house at a nearby village. In the ensuing encounter, three LeT terrorists were killed while one was apprehended. A joint operation was conducted by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), army, Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.


Unfortunately, during the gunfight one army personnel was martyred. On the other side, the killed terrorists are identified as Abu Mavia, Furkan and. Another local terrorist identified as Rashid Alia who had managed to escape with an injury on his hand, was arrested in Anantnag town where he had gone for treatment. The body of all the terrorists and heavy arms, ammunition were recovered from the encounter site.


The Director General of Jammu and Kashmir police SP Vaid lauded the efforts of security forces and tweeted, “Body of third terrorist Yawar a local was also recovered from encounter site & 4th terrorist caught alive in injured condition. Well done boys.” He further tweeted, “With the elimination of Abu Ismail earlier & now these three Abu Mavia, Furkan & Yawar group that attacked Amarnath Yatries is wiped out.”



The Director General of Jammu and Kashmir police also said that the killed terrorists were involved in the attack on Amarnath Yatris in July this year. Seven Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 15 injured when militants attacked a bus carrying at least 56 passengers at Botengo village near Islamabad, on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway, in South Kashmir.

Earlier, in the month of September this year, Indian security troops killed Amarnath terror attack mastermind Abu Ismail who belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba along with his close aid was killed in a fierce encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Nowgam area. In the month of August this year, Ismail replaced Lashkar chief Abu Dujana after he was killed in an encounter in Pulwama. He was serving as the LeT operational chief in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that 200 terrorists are eliminated by Indian troops in a time period of only 11 months.
