New Delhi, December 6: Sometimes when we get into the train with numbers of luggage bags along with family, we might feel that are we safe in this train while travelling? Will our luggage and precious belongings be safe here? Then Indian Railways has solved your problem. The ministry has decided to reserve a seat for security personnel in the train that is ‘Berth number 63, S1 coach’. Keep this berth and coach number in mind, it will be very helpful for you.

Like Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTE) aboard trains, security personnel working with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) will too have a reserved seat which will help the passengers. In a recent circular issued from Ministry of Railways, provision of one side lower berth (berth no.63) in coach S1 has been earmarked in Sleeper Class coach in the entire train in which this security staff is travelling.

If the train is being escorted by GRP, one berth will be earmarked for GRP and in case the train is escorted by RPF, one berth in Sleeper class will be earmarked for RPF. In case no RPF/GRP is escorting the train, no accommodation will be earmarked for them.

In case of any untoward incident or for any security related issues during journey, passengers may contact the security staff at the earmarked accommodation.
