Unveiling the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Centre, PM Modi recalled his great contributions in making today’s India

New Delhi, December 7: To mark the significance of the 62nd death anniversary of social reformer Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. Recalling the ‘Architecture of Consitution’ Nationa paid the tributes again to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. 

Unveiling the statue of great Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, PM Modi expressed his gratitude saying that “I had the opportunity to lay the foundation stone for this centre. In the heart of our national capital, it is a fitting tribute to Dr. Ambedkar.”

 

Addressing the inauguration, PM Modi said that “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Centre will serve as the boon for the young minds, inculcating the values and concepts of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Baba Saheb had the wonderful power that after his departure, an effort was made to eradicate his contribution in the formation of a nation for many years, but the ideas of Baba Saheb were not removed from the thinking of the masses.”

 

“All of us are indebted because of the contribution made by Baba Saheb to the nation building. This is our government's attempt to reach out to more and more people. Especially the younger generation knows about them, study them” added PM Modi.

Further he said that in this government important places connected with the life of Baba Saheb are being developed as pilgrimage. In the house where Baba Saheb died in Alipur, Delhi, Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial is being constructed. Similarly, in Mahu of Madhya Pradesh, where Baba Saheb was born, it is also being developed as a pilgrimage. By purchasing the house of Babasaheb in the house of London, the BJP government of Maharashtra is developing as a memorial. Similarly, Ambedkar Memorial is being constructed on the land of Indu Mill in Mumbai. Diksha land in Nagpur is also being developed. This Panchtirth is a tribute to Baba Saheb on behalf of today's generation.

 

Recalling the inauguration of VHIM application, PM Modi highlighted that “Last year, a sixth pilgrim has also been built in the virtual world. Bharat Interface for Money - i.e. BHIM App Baba Saheb's financial vision was a tribute to this government. BHIM App has come as a boon for poor, dalit-backward and exploited people.”

Speaking about inequalities prevailing on many grounds PM Modi said that “even after so many years of independence, this situation has remained in our country that there is no equality in the lives of millions of people. Very basic things like electricity connections, water connections, a small house, life insurance, and life’s big challenges for them remained.”

Walking on footsteps of Babsaheb PM Modi said that “in the last three-three years we have tried to fulfill the dream of Baba Saheb's social democracy. The plans of this government have been strengthening social democracy.”

PM Modi added “the essence of Baba Saheb's ideology has been rooted in many forms. Equality of respect, equality of law, equality of rights, equality of human dignity, equality of opportunity, many such topics Baba Saheb has constantly raised in his life.” 

 

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Centre is a fusion of Buddhist and present day architecture. It includes seminar as well as conference halls. There are three auditoriums and an extensive library with a rich digital repository.

Also the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre for Socio-Economic Transformation (DAICSET) will be launched. This institution will show the way and further discussions on vital issues as well as encourage research, original thinking among the youth”, the Prime Minister said earlier on the Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
