Gadkari assures close monitoring of Polavaram project

New Delhi, December 7: In order to fast-track the ongoing work of national irrigation project Polavaram, Union Minister for Water Resources Nitin Gadkari assured that central government will closely monitor the most anticipated national irrigation project.
Addressing the issues raised by state officials, Gadkari expressed that the mega project would be completed within the stipulated time span. According to media reports, the senior Minister announced that he would personally take the stack of the ground situation by visiting project site once in a fortnight.
Earlier, AP government delegation and representatives of Polavaram contractor Transstroy separately called on Gadkari and briefed him about the hurdles in the rollout of Polavaram. Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Minister Department Devineni Umamaheswara Rao presented the issue of fresh tenders and informed about the work being executed by Transstroy.
