New Castle, December 8: Painkillers are harmful we all know now. Along with killing your pains, it might kill your normal lifestyle by bringing dreadful problems like Obesity, Insomnia, and Hypertension. As painkillers are the easiest way to solve some problems temporarily doctors often prescribe it as well as patients also take it without doctor’s permission. For a headache to a minor injury, the wide spell of painkillers needs to be brought down.

A study was conducted by scientists from the UK, representing the University of Newcastle. Patients were divided into two categories: those who took painkillers along with heart disease medicines, stroke or diabetic medicines and those who took only the remedies for the treatment of the heart.

The first category is 95 percent more likely to be obese. These drugs also increase insomnia and nighttime breathing. Even painkillers some time work as sedatives which could also increase the tendency of obesity by reducing the energy for the workout.

Lead author Dr. Sophie Cassidy said: 'We already know that opiates are dependency-forming but this study also found patients taking opiates have the worst health. Obesity rates are much higher and the patients reported sleeping poorly.”The most powerful prescription painkillers are called opioids, which are opium-like compounds.
