Russian President Putin says the nation’s economy has emerged from the crisis

Moscow, September 12: Russia’s economy has gone through a depressed phase, it has often been said. If Putin could play an important role to help Russia recovering from the economic depression or not that has been questioned. When the Presidential election is approaching the country, against such backdrop Putin said Russia's economy has emerged from the crisis.

"All that you said undoubtedly means that the Russian economy has emerged from the crisis, is gaining momentum, and we need to do everything in order to keep these dynamics in these conditions," Putin said. He thinks both businesses and citizens would gradually feel the "positive factors that are taking place in the economy."

Among common mass, there is a range of anger against Russian President regarding the economy, freedom of the press, and his dealings with the US, corruption in top level leaders. Still, despite all the factors, Putin has an unpanelled popularity among Russian mass. Plunging oil prices, years of recession and Western sanctions over Moscow's actions in Ukraine could not affect Putin’s unfaltering popularity but still, these factors could play a negative role in the upcoming election.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev also said that Russia's economy was growing, adding that positive trends would be reflected in the federal budget. The Research and Forecasting Department of the Central Bank of Russia has improved the forecast for GDP growth in 2017 to 2 percent from 1.5-1.6 percent.
