Fresh UN sanctions imposed on North Korea restricting textile export, oil import

New York, September 12: As indicated before, North Korea has been slapped with new sanctions from UN. Whereas it was not sure if Russia and China would support or not support the sanction but the nations also supported the draft resolution by the US. Pyongyang warned aggressively on Monday that the US would face great danger if comes up with any sanction. However, United Nations Security Council has unanimously adopted the draft.

The new ban restricts North Korea from importing all natural gas liquids and condensates. It also bans oil import and textile import. Hence the resource money of weapon program is now restricted. Though the US came up with a total ban on oil imports Russia and China supported to a reduced measure.

The US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, told the Security Council after the vote: "We don't take pleasure in further strengthening sanctions today. We are not looking for war." "The North Korean regime has not yet passed the point of no return... If it agrees to stop its nuclear program, it can reclaim its future."

Though Russia previously did not support and said tougher sanctions would be useless but later supported "leaving nuclear tests without a firm reaction would be wrong".
