New Delhi, Sept 13: Reiterating the historic judgment of the Supreme Court of India, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat said that Hindu Dharma is a way of life and not a religion. He was speaking at the interactive session “Breakfast Briefings" organized by India Foundation, a brainchild of former RSS functionary and BJP general secretary Ram Madhav at Claridges Hotel. Diplomats and Ambassadors of more than 50 countries marked their presence in this first of its kind one to one interactive session with RSS Chief.

As reported by Times of India, when asked about the relations of RSS and the BJP Bhagwat clarified that RSS is a cultural organization which believes in molding men with sterling character and strong patriotism. Elaborating about the various projects of RSS Bhagwat said that the Swayamsevaks of world’s largest voluntary organization takes care of 1.7 lakh social service projects in the sectors like health, education, rural development and janajati welfare.
Commenting on the relationship with BJP Bhagwat clearly asserted that RSS and BJP are independent organizations. Refuting the conventional media talks which portray RSS as the remote control of BJP Bhagwat stated that swayamsevaks work and associated with the two organizations. As such they consult each other on the issues of national interest and importance.
According to media reports, The Sarsanghachalak invited all delegates to visit RSS Shakha to know about the functioning of the organisation. Expressing his displeasure over the trolling culture on various social media platforms by some fringe elements in the name of free speech Bhagwat took a dig at such netizens and added that RSS does not support such extreme expressions.
Responding to a question on the most sought after issue of Ram Janmabhoomi where the matter is under supreme court Dr. Bhagwat stated that RSS will go with the verdict of the apex court. On this occasion, Union Minister Jayant Sinha was also present.
