'Rashtra Basha' gives identity to nation: Dr. Raman Singh

Raipur, September 13: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today greeted the citizens of the State on 'Hindi Diwas' on 14 September. In a message on the eve of Hindi Day he mentioned that nation is identified with 'Rashtra Basha'.

“Hindi is our 'Rashtra Basha' and it binds the nation together. Unity in Diversity is our rich cultural ethos and there are various dialects of Hindi. The dialects have their own importance,” The Chief Minister said.

 

Dr. Raman Singh said that literary giants and artistes play a crucial role in enriching the language and also common citizen who speak the language on a daily basis. Hindi is the 'Rashtra Basha' as stated in the Constitution.

“Hindi should be used in State Government offices and citizens should make efforts to spread Hindi as Rashtra Basha at all levels. Dr. Raman Singh sought co-operation from all right-thinking citizens of the State.”

Chief Minister said that Indians settled all over the globe whether in-Mauritius, Fiji, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Surinam, United Arab Emirates (Dubai), China, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and nations in South-East Asia, England, America and Australia- are making Hindi popular in their adopted countries.

The Constitution Assembly on 14 September 1949 unanimously resolved to give Hindi the status of 'Rajbasha'. Hindi Diwas is observed on 14 September to commemorate the day. According to a survey Hindi is being taught in various schools-colleges in 40 countries. Hindi is the second most widely spoken language after Chinese Mandarin in the entire world. English is at the Third Spot.
