JNPCT awarded Container Terminal of the Year Award

Mumbai, September 14: The Jawaharlal Nehru Port owned Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPCT) has been awarded the “Container Terminal of the Year” Award for the above 0.6 million Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit (TEUs) category at The Gateway Awards 2017 held at Mumbai.


 

This award is accepted by JNPT Deputy Chairman Neeraj Bansal for proactive strategies to ease congestion, smooth delivery of containers and revamping of infrastructure to support trade amidst adverse conditions of JNPT. After receiving the award he said “JNPCT has been able to create growth momentum in the last few years as a result of various initiatives to increase the overall efficiency of the terminal and the Port. These initiatives have now started showing positive results and we will continue to further increase our efficiency levels.”

About JNPT: Located at Navi Mumbai, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) formerly known as the Nhava Sheva Port was accredited on 26th May 1989 within the Mumbai Harbour on the West Coast of India. It is country’s largest container port. It is one of the oldest port in India. Its own container Terminal JNPCT is the most economical and has excellent connectivity by rail and road. It has a backup infrastructure of 34 Container Freight Stations (CFSs), connected with 46 Inland Container Depots (ICDs).
