Shameless Pakistan resorts to ceasefire in J&K again; 5 people injured

Srinagar, September 14: Pakistan has resorted to ceasefire violation in Jammu and Kashmir in Pargwal area of Akhnoor sector and Degwar area of Poonch district. Indian Army is retaliating to the firing. Incidents of ceasefire violation by Pakistan have increased this year.

Defence sources said, Pakistan Rangers resorted to small arms firing on Brahman Bella and Raipur Border out Posts along the international border in Pargwal sector of Akhnoor belt in Jammu district from 3:15 PM.

Five persons, including two BSF jawans, were injured in the incident which started yesterday evening. Indian troops retaliated and gave a befitting reply to the Pakistani firing and shelling. This is fourth ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in past five days.

Earlier, on September 1, an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of the Border Security Force, Kamaljit Singh, sustained bullet injuries due to enemy fire from across the LoC while he was deployed at a forward post in Krishna Ghati Sector in Poonch. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Till August 1, there were 285 such violations by the Pakistan Army, while in 2016, it 228 for the entire year, according to the Army figures.
