#AmarnathAttackAvenged : Indian troops eliminated 2 LeT terrorists including Abu Ismail in Srinagar

Srinagar, September 15: Indian security troops on Thursday got a major success in Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to curb terrorism after Amarnath terror attack mastermind Abu Ismail who belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba along with his close aid was killed in a fierce encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Nowgam area. Also, the security forces have recovered heavy arms and ammunition along with the body of slain terrorists. 

Notably, security forces on Thursday eliminated two LeT terrorists including the mastermind of the Amarnath yatra attack Abu Ismail and his close associate in a fierce encounter that took place at Aarigam village of Nowgam district in outskirts of Srinagar. The killing of terrorists comes in an ongoing anti-terrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir region.

 

According to official sources, the search operation was launched following the specific information about the presence of three terrorists at Aarigam village of Nowgam district in outskirts of Srinagar. Terrorists opened fire when security forces were sealing the area. In the ensuing encounter, two LeT terrorists were killed. A joint operation was conducted by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Importantly, LeT militant and Pakistani national Ismail was the mastermind of the Amarnath yatra attack that killed eight pilgrims in July this year. In the month of August this year, Ismail replaced Lashkar chief Abu Dujana after he was killed in an encounter in Pulwama. He was serving as the LeT operational chief in Jammu and Kashmir.

On the other side, shameless Pakistani troops continue to violate ceasefire in Arnia sector of Jammu district in wee hours on Friday morning. Due to ceasefire violations, a BSF jawan was martyred while another one was injured. Earlier, in an ongoing anti-terrorist operation in Jammu and Kashmir region, security forces successfully eliminated one terrorist while another was arrested at Barbugh village in Shopian district.
