Bihar govt taking several initiatives for development of IT industry in the state

Patna, September 15: In an era of technology, IT sector plays very important role in the economy of a state or a country. Keeping that in mind, Bihar government wants to give priority to the development of information technology in the state. On Thursday Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated "Bihar IT and ITeS Investment Conclave 2017".

To focus on the IT development properly, the Bihar Government has come out vision documents titled ‘Bihar IT/ ITeS Investment Promotion Vision 2017’ & ‘Bihar ESDM Vision 2017’. Bihar government will also set up an IT city at Rajgir near Nalanda International University. 100 acres land has been provided for the planned project. In addition to this, the land has been made available for IT Park at Bihta in Patna district and in Patna city land has been provided for setting up the IT Tower.

“To facilitate, promote, and develop the ESDM sector of the State and make Bihar one of the most preferred investment destinations for ESDM companies in the country, while offering an enabling environment for industrial investment, transparent and dynamic governance, large scale adoption of R&D and innovation, and supply of a large pool of technically trained manpower available at affordable cost,” Bihar CM said.

Union IT Minister Ravishankar Prasad was present in Bihar IT and ITeS Investment Conclave 2017. He announced that an institution related to cyber security would be set up in Patna. Deputy Cm of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi said Bihar youths are being encouraged to join IT sector.
