New York, September 17: India will persistently raise Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar issue on the international forum and find a solution through dialogue and will not sit idle till he is brought to justice.

This was said by India's permanent representative to the United Nation, Syed Akbaruddin on Sunday in New York in response to a question on India's effort towards terrorist designation of Azhar, which has repeatedly been blocked by China.

Syed Akbaruddin said that many countries on the issue of Masood Azhar issue is with India except one. Referring to China, Akbaruddin said, “Only that one country is coming in way of declaring Masood Azhar a globally designated terrorist at the UN. But, we want to find a solution to this issue through dialogue.”

Akbaruddin further said that the issue is under a committee of the United Nations and it is expected take decision on it in three months. Akbaruddin also reiterated that the issue will never be forgotten and whatever time it takes, India will not sit idle till he is brought to justice.

Interestingly, earlier, in the month of August, China using its veto power again extended by three months its technical hold on the US, France and UK- backed proposal to list JeM chief and Pathankot terror attack mastermind Masood Azhar as a designated terrorist by the UN. The extension is expiring on November 2.

Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Masood Azhar, his brother Mufti Rauf Asghar and his two other key lieutenants - Shahid Latif and Kashif Jan have led from the front on January 2 Pathankot airbase attack.
