Belur Math, the spiritual hub of Bengal to come up with international convention centre in premises

Kolkata, September 18: The famous Belur Math in Kolkata which is one of the famous spiritual hubs in the country
will get an international convention centre. This meeting hall will accommodate 1200 delegates. In decades, this is one of the first big construction projects at the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.

The G+4 structure will have three convention halls. The work of the construction will start after Puja. Estimated time for the completion of the project is one and half year. Previously the plot used to grow vegetables. Soon after Durga Puja, vegetation will be cleared to start the construction.

"We have decided to name the centre after Swami Abhedananda, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna," Swami Suvirananda, general secretary of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, told The Telegraph Metro. "Belur Math needs such a convention centre as it lacks a dedicated centre for monastic conferences."

The guests for the convention can gather for refreshments in the atrium. Along with that, there will be cafeteria, reception hall. For hosting good conferences, the halls will have the high-quality audio-visual equipment and wireless broadband connection.
