New Delhi, September 18: Since Nitish Kumar broke the alliance with RJD regarding corruption charges against Tejashwi Yadav, JD (U) is going through a period of internal conflict. Sharad Yadav once a prominent face in JD (U) claimed the party did not support Nitish’s decision. Leading to a spilt in the party, Sharad Yadav-led faction of the JD(U) elected Chhotubhai Amarsinh Vasava, a tribal leader and MLA from Jhagadia in Gujarat as acting president.

In New Delhi, there was a national executive meeting of the party. According to senior leader Javed Raza, the executive meeting set up a disciplinary action committee to ‘examine’ the Nitish camp’s ‘violation of party line’. He claimed the meeting was attended by JDU presidents of 19 state units.

The conflict started after Nitish Kumar broke the “gaatbandhan” due to corruption charge Lalu Yadav’s son Tejaswi. Bihar CM who always promoted no corruption in Bihar did not support RJD’s demand of continuation of Tejaswi’s term as Bihar deputy CM. Later Nitish Kumar with the support from NDA t the ok oath again as Bihar deputy CM and joined the alliance. Since then a group of leaders is creating a big hullabaloo.

Sharad Yadav always claimed the “real JDU” is with him. Recently they claimed for the party symbol but the Election Commission denied the right on the grounds that required documents were not submitted by the Yadav faction.
