New Delhi, September 18: The mAadhaar app, launched in July this year by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). mAadhaar app enables the users to carry their information on their mobile phones. mAadhaar app is currently available only on Android.

The app will store data including name, date of birth, gender, address and photograph. mAadhaar comes with a biometric locking/unlocking feature to secure the personal data. Once a user enables the locking system, the app remains locked till he/she chooses to either Unlock it or disable the locking system. 

A notification, dated September 13, from the Ministry of Railways stated: "m-Aadhaar when shown by the passenger on his/her mobile after entering the password should be accepted as proof of identity for undertaking journey in any reserved class over Indian Railways."

>Set a password and enter your Aadhaar number; Else, you can scan the bar code on the Aadhaar card.

>The app will automatically send a SMS to the linked phone number.

>OTP is entered automatically in the interface.

>After the OTP is verified, you will see your profile with your name and Aadhaar number.
