World Bank lauds Odisha’s efforts in reducing infant mortality rate and poverty

Bhubaneswar, September 21: World Bank lauded Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s government, commending about significant improvement in reducing infant mortality rate and poverty. Also, Naveen Patnaik was awarded as the Best Administrator of India. 

A delegation of the World Bank headed by its Country Director Junaid Ahmad met Chief Minister Naveen Minister on Wednesday to discuss future collaborations between the state government and West Bengal. 

The delegation lauded the State government’s effort towards poverty alleviation and significant improvement in reducing infant mortality rate, said an official statement by the CMO.

The Global financial institution’s official expressed to extend more aid to the state government on health, livelihood mission, women empowerment and infrastructure development. A five-year action plan has been finalized at the meeting to extend financial aid and technical assistance to the state government by the World Bank.
