Development projects of Rs 269 Cr kicked off in Naxalites afflicted Dantewada

Raipur, September 22: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh greeted the citizens of Naxalites afflicted district Dantewada on the auspicious occasion of 'Sharadiya Navrathri' at a huge rally. He performed 'bhoomipujan', laid foundation stones and dedicated developmental works worth Rs 269 crore.

The projects include houses for 2400 poor families to be built at a cost of Rs 47 crore 52 lakh under the Prime Minister Housing Scheme. He dedicated houses for 201 families built at a cost of Rs Three crore 17 lakh under the Prime Minister Housing Scheme. 

Most of the developmental works dedicated to be undertaken are being done from the District Mines' Fund (DMF). The dedicated works include electrification of village Masenaar, extension of 33 kv electrification of Dantewada-Kuhakonda line, the construction of boundary walls at ashram schools, boys' hostels and other schools and a dining shed.

Also, developmental works at Dantewada District Hospital, cows' rehabilitation centres at village Teknaar to preserve cows, several rural roads and hostels at various schools.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh laid the foundation stone for a housing colony at Kirandul at a cost of Rs Six crore 53 lakh for rehabilitating poor citizens. He also performed 'bhoomipujan ' of a housing project for teachers of several developmental blocks to be built at a cost of Rs Eight crore 17 lakh.

Hostels and school buildings will be constructed at many places at a cost of Rs 36 crore. Dr. Raman Singh distributed relief materials to many beneficiaries of State Government projects.
