Kremlin, September 22: The ongoing controversy of alleged Russian interference in 2016 US election has been termed as “frenzy” by Russia often. US have complained that Russia has used Facebook to influence for favoring Donald Trump in last Presidential poll in the US. Provoking the controversy more, Facebook announced it will turn over to Congress more than 3,000 political ads that were bought during the 2016 presidential election and linked to Russian accounts. Responding to this, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia did not place adverts on Facebook Inc.
There were many trolls, social media campaigns, posts during the period. Intelligence agencies like CIA, FBI is already investigating the allegations and in the earlier part of this year made sure Russia was behind this. Some state-run media of Russia were also alleged for that. Russia continuously denied the charge.
“We are looking into foreign actors, including additional Russian groups and other former Soviet states, as well as organizations like the campaigns, to further our understanding of how they used our tools,” the Facebook chairman Zuckerberg said earlier while he announced to co-operate with US Congress on the issue.
