Split within TMC: Top leader Mukul Roy announces to quit party officially

Kolkata, September 25: The split within Trinamool Congress has again become clear in daylight as one of the top leaders Mukul Roy on Monday announced to resign from TMC. He will officially resign after Durga Puja. Till now he has not explained any reason behind his resignation. Though there is not an official source it is assumed he may join BJP.

Once a very loyal party worker is now almost estranged from TMC administration and Mamata Banerjee. He has been replaced from every comity, Vice President post. Now he will also quit Rajyasabha MP position.

"With a heavy heart, I am announcing that I will quit the primary party post of Trinamool Congress and the Rajya Sabha membership. I will formally resign after the Durga Puja break," he said in a press conference.

The veteran leader will e-mail his resignation from Working Committee. Currently, he is not any post holder in TMC. Later after Puja, he will resign from rajyasabha MP post as he won the seat as TMC representative.

He has not answered anything about his next course of direction. If he would join BJP or form a new party that is not answered till now. He will take a decision based on the present scenario.
