World Sindhi Congress exposes Pakistan's apathy in UN

New York, September 25: Pakistan shows itself as a victim of terrorism but the actual victims are Sindhis, Baloch peoples and Pakistan occupied Kashmiris. All these people have been reporting and raising their voice against Pakistan in the international community. Once again bringing the Pakistan’s apathy and human rights violation towards Sindhis into the limelight World Sindhi Congress (WSC) on Sunday exposed Islamabad in the United Nations.

 Addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York, World Sindhi Congress exposed Pakistan who is continuously suppressing voices of Sindhis and Sindhudesh. The representative of World Sindhi Congress informed United Nations that Pakistani security forces are kidnapping the political and human rights activists and killing them with an aim to suppress their voices and enforce CPEC project in the region under China’s pressure.

The representative of World Sindhi Congress also informed UN that within several years, over 1200 political activists, human rights activists have been disappeared from Sindh and in recent months, there have been resurgent of enforced disappearances throughout the region. “From February 2017, over 160 human rights, political and civil society activists have gone missing including Had-Marijo, Hidayat Lohar, Murtaja Junejo, Bilal Chandu, Gulshedh Kaggadh, Insaaf Daayo and others,” the WSC representative added.

The WSC representative also accused Pakistani forces of abducting Punel Saru who was protesting and leading the campaign against the government over missing Sindhis. No case has been registered against anyone and whereabouts of missing remain unknown and almost all the witnesses have indicated that the Pakistani forces including ISI, Rangers and police are directly involved in kidnapping these activists.

The WSC also urged United Nations to set up an official inquiry into the cases of enforced disappearances of Sindhi people. WSC in the end also requested the council to press upon Pakistan to stop the enforced disappearances of Sindhi people and to end the human rights violation against Sindhi people and release the missing.
