Jammu and Kashmir police arrested third attacker involved in attack on SSB camp

Srinagar, September 25: Curbing terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is the topmost agenda of Indian security forces. Jammu and Kashmir police continuing its effort to curb terrorism and other anti-national activities busted a terrorist module and arrested 1 more terrorist who was responsible for the September 20 attack on Sashastra Seema Bal camp in Ramban district’s Banihal belt in Kashmir.

 

Notably, Jammu and Kashmir on Monday arrested third terrorist responsible for the September 20 attack on SSB in which 1 Jawan was martyred. However, a Chinese pistol was found from the terrorist possession. Inspector General of Police SDS Jamwal said the third attacker is identified as Aqib Ahmed Najar of Kaskoot village. The accused were students at Kashmir’s Anantnag degree college, Jamwal had added.

Earlier, on the 22nd September, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two terrorists were identified as Gazanfar Iqbal Khan and Mohammed Arif. The police had recovered an AK-47 assault rifle and an Insas rifle, which the militants had snatched from the security forces. Arif and Ghazanfar had claimed that militant outfits had asked them to snatch weapons from security forces to formally join their ranks.

 

On Sunday, Indian Army eliminated three Pakistani terrorists in the Uri sector of Baramulla district along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir and foiled the major infiltration bid. The Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that at least 140 terrorists are eliminated by Indian troops in a time period of only 8 months.
