I will email my resignation from the party working committee today itself. I'll quit as Rajya Sabha member after the Durga Puja break. I will also quit my primary membership of the Trinamool after a few days.

On 25th September, Mukul Roy said that according to the newspapers he has been appointed as a member of Working/Executive Committee of AITMC, but he is not been informed from the party. He further added that if it is to be done then he is resigning from that post too.

While the reason for expelling Roy from the party is said to be the anti-party activities. He is trying to form a new party. Served as a Vice President of TMC, Roy was also the Railway Minister. He was one of the founding members of AITMC.
