Pune, Sept 26: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is a movement to build the future New India, asserted Indresh Kumar, senior functionary of RSS here on Sunday.

Founder of Goodwill India, Kalidas More, Pune Mahanagar Karyawah Mahesh Karpe and Sambhaji Bhag Sanghchalak Digambar Parulekar were present on the dais.

Addressing the ‘Shastrapujan and Vijayadashami Utsav’ of Sambhaji Bhag (Kothrud) in Pune on Sunday evening Indresh Kumar, who is also a Guide and Patron of Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), stressed the need to understand the India that changed after 2014.

He explained in detail how India changed particularly in respect of Indo-Pak relations, the situation in Kashmir Valley, Indo-China ties, the firm stand in Doklam stand off and how the global opinion is tilting towards India. This positive attitude and firmness in dealing with situation was the result of Sangh Sanskars, he underlined

He appealed to the Swayamsevkas to imbibe these positive traits and encourage others to become swayamsevaks. RSS is the movement of future New India, he said adding that over 1.5 lakh sewa projects are being conducted in different parts of the country by the lakhs of swayamsevaks. RSS has given a model of personality development to the world, he added underlining that the service rendered by the swayamsevaks to the needy persons as their duty and commitment towards the society and not as pity.

Indresh Kumar said that RSS does not discriminate amongst the citizens of the country. It is wrong to describe the RSS as organisation of the upper caste people. He appealed to the people to join RSS and see for themselves how all citizens are treated with equal respect and honour.

Holding the Congress squarely responsible for the partition of the country, Indresh Kuamr said that Congress had signed the document of partition and not of Independence of India in 1947. Wrong and factually incorrect history is being taught that Congress brought the independence to India. This is totally false and wrong, he said.

He said that Mahatma Gandhi was dead against the partition of the country and did not participate in any of Independence Day celebrations. Though the Mahatma was opposed to the vivisection of the motherland he had to bow to the pressure from the top Congress leaders of the time. This history is never taught or told, he quipped.

Launching a frontal attack on the Congress he said that it must accept the total responsibility of partition but its leaders boast that they brought the independence to the country. In fact, there is a need to write the history of that period in most impartial and impassionate manner after a thorough study, he added.

In his address, Kalidas More praised the RSS swayamsevaks for their attitude to serve the society in times of distress and difficulties. Sudhir Javalekar, Karyawah of Sambhaji Bhag presented the report of activities of last year.

Over 600 swayamsevaks in uniform performed various physical drills including yogasana, band etc. Over 1000-1500 citizens of the area also attended the function.
