New Delhi, September 26: Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat on Monday said that the terrorists will keep coming because the terror camps are still operational across the LoC. Even we are ready. We will keep receiving those infiltrators to dispatch them two-and-a-half feet below the ground.

Notably, Gen Bipin Rawat while speaking at a book launch function in New Delhi said that the cross-border infiltration will continue because camps across the Line of Control, from where terrorists are launched, are still operational, and further warned that the Indian Army is ready to “receive” them and keep dispatching them to their graves.

The Army chief warned Pakistan of repeating surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the LoC if needed. He said that the surgical strike was conducted to send a message and if adversaries do not understand, it will be repeated.

Gen Bipin Rawat said, the surgical strikes last year sent a message that India is a stronger nation and capable of making decisions when the time comes. Rawat's predecessor Gen (retd) Dalbir Singh, who was the Army chief when surgical strikes were carried out, echoed similar views on their impact.

Earlier, Lieutenant General Devraj Anbu also warned Pakistan after saying Indian army can breach Line of Control (LoC) and go across to strike terrorists when it is needed. He said, “Surgical strike was for a point we wanted to drive home that LoC is not a line that cannot be breached.” “When we want to, we will be able to breach LoC, go across and strike when we need. A subtle message we wanted to convey.”

Interestingly, the surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the LoC were conducted on the intervening night of 28th and 29th September last year, following a terrorist attack on Uri Army camp that killed 19 soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir.
