Two Maoists gunned down by police in Odisha

Bargarh, 27 September: An operation carried out by police in Salepali forest of Bargarh district resulted in the battle between cops and the two Naxals including one woman on Wednesday. Both the Maoists were gunned down by the police. Arms, ammunition, and cash are recovered.

The Gun battle between the two sides started on late Tuesday in Salepali forest area. After the clash, Police DG Dr. RP Sharma tweeted on his personal twitter handle about the incident informing that two Maoists got killed in an encounter with Odisha Police at Salepali.


The identity of the deceased in uniforms is still not disclosed. But both the Maoists were from Chhattisgarh. The area is under coming operation. The police have recovered two .303 rifles, 105 rounds of live bullets and Rs 20,000 from the place.
