India’s first 8-seater electric van ‘eSupro’ ran on Shimla roads

Shimla, September 29: India’s first all-electric cargo and passenger van “Ride with Pride” Electric Supro (eSupro)  ran on the roads of Shimla on Thursday. The flag off was done by Gurmukhi Singh Bali, Transport Minister, Himachal Pradesh government. Mahindra group has invented the all-electric cargo and passenger van. 

It is a big step towards saving the non-renewable resources like petrol and diesel. Technology is advancing day by day due to which tackling pollution is bit easy. To make the environment clean, green, and healthy hybrid cars are the alternative.

 

Mahindra eSupro is a zero-emission variant van with an average of 112 km on a full charge and can achieve a top speed of 60kmph on heavy load. The price of cargo van is Rs. 8.45 lacs and for the passenger van, it is 8.75 lacs. It is also India’s first 8-seater electric van.

 

About the eSupro Range: The eSupro van is an emission-free and eco-friendly battery-powered electric van. With a single speed gearbox, the motor allows to cruise and without shifting gears. It needs a 15amp plug point to charge and get a 0-100% charge in 8 hours 45 mins. It has a regenerative breaking technology due to which its battery charges eSupro’s battery every time its brakes are applied which helps in recovering the dispensed energy. The emergency feature gives 7kms of extra range once you are out of charge.
