Srinagar, January 1: Security forces on Sunday early morning eliminated three Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists after they attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) training centre in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. Unfortunately, in this attack, four security personnel were martyred.

Notably, heavily armed terrorists launched an attack on a CRPF camp which is situated in Lethpora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. In this lethal attack, four CRPF personnel were martyred while in the retaliation forces killed three suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists.

CRPF spokesperson Rajesh Yadav said, "Four CRPF jawans have been martyred and three others are injured. The bodies of three terrorists have also been recovered from the encounter site.” He further said that the heavily armed terrorists hurled grenades and then began indiscriminate firing and entered the training centre in which four CRPF personnel were martyred. “With the daybreak, more troops were called in to neutralize the terrorists and buildings in the nearby area were also evacuated,” he noted.

On the other side, Director General of Police S P Vaid said security forces had inputs about impending terrorists strike in the Kashmir Valley for the past three days. While terming the attack as unfortunate, SP Vaid said as long as Pakistan keeps sending militants, security forces and people of Kashmir will continue to go through this. "There was an input from the last two-three days. They were trying. They probably could not get a place and time earlier. So, they struck last night," Vaid concluded.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army once again resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Digwar sector of Poonch district and Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. Two army jawans were also martyred in the unprovoked cross-firing.

Security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
