8700 slum families to get dream homes in Jharkhand

Ranchi, January 10: Slums rehabilitation is the concern of each and every authority. Keeping this into mind it has been decided to rehabilitate 8700 slum families in Jharkhand.

The Raghubar government's cabinet Tuesday made two important decisions for the capital. It was decided to give housing for first Ranchi and for those living in slums of second HEC area. Rs. 148 crore administrative approvals for Ranchi water supply were given. After the Cabinet meeting, Urban Development Minister CP Singh said that this is the first phase. After this, it will work in two more phases. DPR is also being prepared for this. The policy is being decided for the poor on which conditions the housing will be given to the poor. 

There are 42 slum colonies and about 8700 families live here. The government will make a house for one hundred acres of land under the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana. The conditions on which the house will be given will be determined. One of these is the colony of leprosy patients. The government will also make them a house. Leprosy patients will be given a free home. The remaining 200 acres of land will be utilized by the City Development Department. In return, Rs. 75 crores will be given to HEC in the form of revival package.

The cabinet has sanctioned the funds to repair the water supply system in Ranchi. About 18 wards are coming in the first phase. There are 75897 houses in these wards, out of which only 14 thousand households are available through the pipeline. Urban Development Minister CP Singh said that there are plans to construct 14 water tanks in different parts including the Kishorganj, District School, Sukhdev Bihar of the city. Of which NOC has already got four water reservoirs, the process is going on for the remaining places.
