Paying tribute to the late artists, Hyderabad Literary Festival to hit floors from Jan 28

Hyderabad, January 10: Keeping Kanada language as the main focus, more than 10 leading kannada artists and authors will participate in the Hyderabad Literary Festival. The sessions include literature, theatre, film and poetry from Karnataka. The panel will also discuss on matters of language crisis in Karnataka. Hyderabad Literary Festival 2018 will pay tribute to legendary artists who died last year. They include classical singer Girija Devi, actors Shashi Kapoor and Tom Alter, and journalist Gauri Lankesh.


 

Around 100 writers, artists, filmmakers, artists, scholars and journalists from India and abroad will participate in the eight edition of Hyderabad Literary Festival which is set to start from January 28. Participants representing a wide range of creative filed will be attending this three day festival in Hyderabad Public School.

In association with the Telangana Government, Hyderabad Literary Festival is organized in support of several academic institutions, literary and cultural organizations and publishing houses.

HLF started back in the year 2010 with the aim of representing the cultural and artistic ethos of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The main objective of the festival is to promote the brand image of Hyderabad as a city of creative energies. The festival brings some of the finest creative minds in India and abroad to Hyderabad.

The festival comprises conversations with authors, readings, panel discussions, workshops, screenings, exhibitions, book launches, cultural programs, art-on-street, and events for college students and school children.
