Over 1.5 crore man-days generated in last two years under MGNREGA in Kishtwar, Doda districts of JK

Jammu, January 11: As many as 1.5 crore man-days were generated during 2015-16 and 2016-17 under MGNREGA in Kishtwar and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir. This was said by Rural Development Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Haq Khan in the House.

 

While giving a reply during the question hour in the House, Minister said House that 1.5 crore man-days were generated during 2015-16 and 2016-17 under MGNREGA in Kishtwar and Doda districts. Giving further details, he said that 74.71 lakh man-days were generated in Kishtwar and 76.50 in Doda district.

The Minister also said that the liabilities on account of works completed under MGNREGA during the year 2016-17 and 2017-18 in Kishtwar is Rs.65.55 crore and Rs. 57.51 crore in Doda district. Replying to another question, Minister said that the MGNREGA plan allocation for the year 2017-18 for district Kishtwar was Rs.82.22 crore and District Doda Rs.101.19 crore.

The Minister also noted that the Union Ministry of Rural Development, with effect from 2016-17, has revamped erstwhile IAY scheme into Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G). He said that the scheme guidelines mandates selection of beneficiaries from an auto-generated list drawn out of Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) date 2-11, after adherence of prescribed criteria of automatic inclusion, exclusion, prioritization, verification, etc.

The Minister, in the end, said that the District Appellate Committee has been constituted with Additional District Development Commissioner as the Chairman of the Committee as per guidelines of PMAY(G) for the inclusion of eligible left out beneficiaries.
