Colorful kites fly high celebrating Telangana International Kite Festival

Hyderabad, January 13: Today many colourful kites took off in the skies today on the sweet occasion of Makar Sankranti in Hyderabad. The 3rd International Telangana International Kite Festival – 2018, welcomed all the kite lovers from across the globe from 13 January to 15 in Hyderabad, coinciding with Makara Sankranti festivities. 

Local kite enthusiasts along with scores of national and international flying clubs are set to participate in the mega kite festival.

The Kite festival celebrations will reflect a rich culture, kites and craft of Hyderabad. The festival aims to educate and entertain through a series of kite-making workshops.

 

The festival will also highlight Kite-flying lessons for beginners and kite-fighting competitions for the kite lovers. The surprising element of Kites Festival 2018 is night-time Kite flying.

“Educate a girl Child and she will change the world” is the theme of the Kite Festival to be attended by 11 countries, several States, 11 pan India Clubs and 40 International Kite flyers.

The kite festival is for the social cause to create awareness of the importance of education and empowerment of girl children and expect a footfall of one lakh visitors to the mega event.
