Electricity, health smart card to be given to every family by 2018: CM Raman Singh

Raipur, January 15: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that because of the innovative vision and better strategy, Chhattisgarh will be achieving its goals in many sectors in New Year 2018.

The Chief Minister was informing about the goals of state for year 2018, in monthly Radio programme 'Raman Ke Goth' on Sunday. People at various places of villages and cities today listened to the radio programme of Chief Minister with keen interest and gave enthusiastic feedback.

Singh said- Chhattisgarh will achieve the goal of becoming Open Defecation Free in year 2018 i.e. one year before the goal set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under Clean India Mission for achieving status ODF status in year 2019. Moreover, all the villages of the state will be electrified, each household will have electricity connection and every family will have access to smart phones. This year each and every family of the state will be provided smart cards under Health Insurance Scheme.

Dr Raman Singh said- Chhattisgarh has successfully achieved its target of providing Right to Food and Nutrition to each and every citizen of the state. Rate of Malnutrition has reduced from 52% to 30%. In year 2018, malnutrition will be eradicated on a further accelerated rate. In the entire vaccination programme, we are way ahead of the national average, and this year we would achieve the national goal of 90 percent.

Under Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana, target of providing LPG connection to women of 35 lakh families in state has been set, out of which 17 lakh connections have already been provided. This year, 'aabaadi patta' will also be distributed to all the deprived families.
