7th edition of Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav welcomes bright performances uniting India with diverse cultures

Bengaluru, January 15: 7th edition of Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav kicked off with bright performances representing sacred cultures of the nation. Inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Culture Mahesh Sharma under “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.'' 

Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav kick-started on Sunday which will go on till 16th January. More than 2,000 artisans participated in the Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav. Hubli-Dharwad, Nehru Stadium and Mangaluru are a few among many other places.

 

Ananth Kumar, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers and Parliamentary Affairs, Sadananda Gowda, Union Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Dr Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister of State for Culture and Environment inaugurated the event on Sunday.

Among the works on display were, work on Nicholas Roerich, a Russian artist, Writer, theosophist and archaeologist who lived and died in the Himalayas, the presentation on artists from Uttarakhand, Screening of films on Almora Ramleela and Pandavleela etc.

Lively performances took the stage amidst applause. Ritual forms of performances were also performed by different groups. “A week-long cultural extravaganza shall bring cultural colours of India at one place,” said Mahesh Sharma, , Union Minister of State for Culture.
