Srinagar, January 15: Security forces on Monday morning sent six Pakistani terrorists belonged to Jaish-e- Mohammad (JeM) terror group into the graves after they tried to sneak in the Indian side in the Uri sector of Baramulla district along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The combing operation is still on and five bodies are recovered while one is yet to recover.

Notably, the Indian army eliminated six JeM terrorists in the Uri sector of Baramulla district along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir and foiled the major infiltration bid. After noticing the suspect movement, the joint operation led by Jammu and Kashmir's police, Army and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) challenged infiltrators which resulted in the exchange of fires and troops easily eliminated two Pakistani terrorists successfully.

Earlier in the day, four Jaish terrorists were gunned down by the security forces. Jammu and Kashmir Police informed that a total of five bodies have been recovered from the encounter site while the sixth is being searched. DGP of Jammu and Kashmir Police posted on Twitter saying "Two more dead bodies of terrorists recovered from encounter site taking the total to 6," followed by a clarification that five bodies have been recovered and the sixth is being searched.

Later talking to media, DGP Vaid said, “Since past few days, we were getting inputs about possible attempts to infiltrate from Uri sector. So, ambushes were laid out in that area by Army, J&K police & CRPF. In the morning, exchange of fire took place in one of the ambushes.” “We have recovered five bodies from the spot. I think six have died, one body is being searched. They belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed & information was that they are suicide attackers,” he added.

Meanwhile, Security has been beefed up in the state ahead of Republic Day on January 26. On the other side, Pakistani Army claimed that four rangers have been killed along LOC in Jandrot, Kotli sector. The Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas and therefore as many as 206 terrorists were killed last year. However, there are over 200 terrorists active in Kashmir.
