IIM Ahmedabad to study world of Baahubali

Ahmedabad, January 16: SS Rajamauli’s magnum opus series Baahubali which has redefined the art of filmmaking will now be introduced as a case study for Management students. India’s top management institute IIM Ahmedabad has planned a comprehensive case study project to analyze the world of Baahubali. The Prabhas Starrer epic drama has shattered all the established box-office records with its unique transmedia marketing strategy.

As reported by DNA, professor Bharathan Kandaswamy has confirmed the development regarding India’s highest grosser epic drama. Kandaswamy stated that the case study will focus on the unique marketing strategies adopted by the makers of Baahubali with the convergence of art, business, and technology. IIM Ahmedabad was the first business school in Asia to introduce a comprehensive elective course on the film studies where more than 700 students are taking lessons of movie production.

Baahubali: The Conclusion, the brainchild of Veteran Writer V Vijayendra Prasad, father of legendary director SS Rajamauli. India’s first highest grosser has already minted near about Rs 1700 crore. The two-part magnum opus was originally shot in Telugu and Tamil and dubbed in Hindi and Malayalam. The epic drama was bankrolled by Arka Media Works, the leading production house down south. In a recent survey of Google, Baahubali has emerged as the as the 7th most trending movie worldwide.

Recently, international open sourcing platform Wikipedia mentioned Baahubali in the list of 2017’s most-read movie page. Adding yet another feather to the cap, the epic drama stood at 11th position with 14,607,282 read hits. Wikipedia hailed Baahubali: The Conclusion for its unprecedented global run where makers have minted over ₹17.065 billion setting new trend in Indian box office.
