Bhopal, January 16: In a remarkable achievement towards clean India Movement, Madhya Pradesh has become the first state of the country in hundred percent door to door garbage collections in urban bodies.

Minister for Urban Development and Housing Maya Singh said that a significant progress has been registered in the urban areas under the Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan. After getting rid in urban areas from ill practice like open defecation completely, work of door to door garbage management is being carried out.

She further stated that the solid waste management work like landfill site and processing through PPP mode are being carried out in the urban areas. These works should be completed within the stipulated time.

Moreover, she mentioned that a special attention should be paid on the distance between the urban bodies, while making clusters under the solid waste management, so that garbage could be sent to the main garbage collection centers within a day. Smt. Singh gave instructions for providing weekly report on progress of solid waste management centers. She said that garbage collection work should be continued on holidays too.

Monitoring of Swachchta Survekshan Abhiyan being carried out by the Government of India under the Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan should be strictly conducted to enable Madhya Pradesh to establish its new image once again in the country by the efforts being made in the state in this connection. She said this in the review meeting of Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan-2018 held at Mantralaya on Monday.
