Manila, January 16: Volcanic eruption is bothering the Philippines highly as the most active volcano has rambled back to live. It spewed lava that cascaded downslope and emitted ash that fell on nearby towns.

Mount Mayon has already compelled thousands to evacuate. Nine episodes of tremor, four of which accompanied lava fountains, and 75 lava collapse events have been recorded indicating a more hazardous eruption. Glowing red lava rolled down the slopes of a Philippine volcano.

“Alert level 3 remains in effect over Mayon Volcano, which means that it is currently in a relatively high level of unrest as magma is at the crater and hazardous eruption is possible within weeks or even days,” Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

From Philippines capital, Manila Mayon lies in a 340km southwest. Due to its perfect cone shape, tourists, as well as climbers, highly choose this spot. In 2013, an ash eruption killed five climbers due to their own irresponsibility because they went near summit despite warnings.

In last 500 years, the volcano has erupted about 50 times. The most destructive was in 1814 which killed 1,200 people and buried the town of Cagsawa in volcanic mud. The Philippines already is situated in an area where volcanic activity, earthquake is common.
