New Delhi, January 16: While India is leaving no stone unturned for her Israel friend, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on President of India Ram Nath Kovind during his Rashtrapati Bhavan visit. Prez Ram Nath Kovind welcomed Israel PM calling him as India’s “special friend.”

Welcoming him with an Indian touch by serving him with olive tea, Prez Kovind discussed with Israel PM about India Israel ties. Prez Kovind said that political understanding, security cooperation and technology partnerships are key pillars of strategic engagement between India and Israel. Collaboration in newer areas such as space, cyber-security and innovation will add depth to our partnership.

Further Prez Kovind added opportunities lie before India-Israel in the fields of investment, manufacturing, services, start-ups and technology.

Lauding the presence of Israeli companies in India, Prez Kovind appealed them to partner with ‘Make in India’, ‘Clean India’, ‘Smart Cities’ and ‘Digital India’.

India-Israel security cooperation is defined by our common fight against terrorism. We need to work together to develop a strong global response to defeat terrorism in all its manifestations, Prez Ram Nath Kovind said.

Gratifying for the lessons learnt from Israel, Prez Kovind said that India appreciates Israel’s cooperation in agriculture. Israel has taught India to do more with less. Israel’s support has served our farmers exceedingly well, especially in water deficient areas.
