Goa welcomes Health wellness center enhancing medical facilities in the state

Panaji, January 17: To enhance health services in the state a Central Government Health Services Wellness Centre was inaugurated at Bambolim near Panaji on Tuesday.

The center was inaugurated by MoS AYUSH Shripad Naik. Speaking after inaugurating the Centre, he said,'' A long-cherished demand for Goa has materialized now.”

He said the Centre had decided to start a CHGS wellness center in every state capital and informed that CGHS Goa was 37th Centre.

In the last three years, 11 new wellness centers had been opened and 10.64 lakh families covered by CGHS at present, he said.

Along with this Minister Naik also laid foundation the foundation stone for the compound wall at Primary Health Centre, Corlim Goa on January 6, 2018. Rs 35 lakh allotted through MPLAD Scheme for this work.

 

Recently CM of Goa had announced Goa that outstation patients will continue to get free-of-cost emergency medical procedures in the state-run hospitals, although they will be charged nominal fees for other medical facilities.

CM Manohar Parrikar had said, "The Goa government is responsible for the Goans and therefore we will take care of Goans. We have no objections to treat the patients from neighboring states, but we have applied minimal charges for them."
