Vijayawada, January 2: Underlining the role of languages in the process of nation-building, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that language the only mean to preserve our ancient culture and rich tradition.

  

 
Speaking at the 29th edition of Vijayawada Annual Book Exhibition, Babu announced that Andhra Pradesh will celebrate 2018 as Telugu promotion year under the banner of ‘Telugu Bhasha Parirakshana Samvatsaram’. He assured that an action plan would be drafted with the help of NGOs and cultural organizations to revive the Telugu language and literature.
 
 
 

The Chief Minister maintained that state will take all possible steps to encourage the use of Telugu in administration. On this occasion, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Ministers Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, NTR Trust CEO Vishnu Vardhan and other officials were present. The annual book fest is being helmed by Andhra Pradesh government in association with NTR Trust.
