Ankara, January 2: “The relationship between Turkey and Qatar has gone a long way and the two brotherly countries are partners in progress. It is my great pleasure to witness the launch of yet another platform for bilateral trade relationship between the two countries” says Ahmet Arslan, Turkish Minister of Transport, Marine Affairs and Communications.

The minister expressed a pleasure to join hands with Qatar in terms of bilateral trade. Arslan said that cooperation between two countries’ postal services was an indicator of brotherhood and long-lasting relations between two countries.

Meanwhile, Qatar Post (Q-Post) and Turkish Post (PTT) have launched the first e-commerce platform ''Turkish Souq'' for Qatari residents. The ''Turkish Souq'' will provide access to up to 5 million Turkish products, Qatar's Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti said.

Qatar and Turkey are strategic trading partners, and these trade ties have grown as a result of the blockade imposed by its neighbours, as Turkey sided with Qatar since Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt severed diplomatic ties with Doha on June 5.

Ahmet Arslan said: “Our cooperation with Qatar will not be limited to e-commerce. It will become widespread in other fields and will pave the way for the two countries to work together elsewhere.”
