Army transforms Rajouri Youth to become 'Gymholic'

Rajouri, January 21: A unique tactic to deal with the long period problem of drug addiction in the region, Indian Army gifted a fully functional and well-equipped gymnasium to the ‘Youth of Rajouri.’ Army the Civil Administration of Rajouri, located right in the heart of the Town on Saturday.

The gymnasium would carry the youth positively away from the ‘Drug Menace’. The Gym was inaugurated by the General Officer Commanding of the Ace of Spades Division and was handed over to Sports Authorities in the presence of all eminent personalities of the town including DC and SSP, Rajouri. ‘Provision of Gymnasium Equipment' was conceptualized during an interaction of Army dignitaries and District Sports authorities with the ‘Youth of Rajouri' in the month of March 2017.

During the interactions of District Sports Department with the Army, a dire need was felt to focus on such sustainable and long-lasting projects which assist in channelizing the energy of ‘Youth of Rajouri' in a positive direction with an aim to drive them away from prevalent ‘Drug Menace' in the region as well as assist these young men and women in improving their physical standards in various sports streams. The project was conceived and executed in record time frame and handed over to civil administration for its usage.

The locals are very excited about this new development in the town and have lauded the contribution of Indian Army for such a long-lasting and useful asset towards youth empowerment.
