Grand celebration and fervour starts the bright day of NE Tri States on their statehood day

Imphal, January 21: The state of Manipur is all set to kickstart the day of 21st January with grand celebration and fervour. The Statehood day of the Northeast State’s Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura has propelled the state into a higher orbit of development.

 

The statehood day celebration of Manipur was observed at the 1st Manipur Rifles parade ground, Imphal. Although the state has been one that has gone through trouble and negligence but since the attainment of statehood, Manipur has made progress on various fronts. The wheels of development have moved faster only when there is peace. In a series of tweets, Prime Minister Modi said, "Best wishes to the people of Tripura on their Statehood Day. Tripura is blessed with a glorious history and industrious youngsters, whose aspirations we are committed to fulfilling".

 

Thus the state despite being a small state in comparison to other larger Indian states, has achieved admirable achievements in several priority sectors. Inspite of having varied culture and traditions the scenic beauty of the state has garnered the much needed attention from the people especially the tourists. The indigenous games of Manipur also celebrate the long cultural heritage and the intriguing relationship shared by the people with its games and sports. Emphasizing the beauty of water and hill places the spots never fail to grab eyeballs. Along with this the state also celebrates its culture and tradition through various events and festivals.

However there are instances of violence arising out of insurgency and ethnic strife amongst different communities, besides blemishing the long and glorious history of peaceful co-existence, unity and brotherhood amongst the countless groups inhabiting this beautiful land, have at times been hampering the progress of development. But this has not let down the enthusiasm and zeal to achieve everything slow down among the people.
